The Swansea & Mumbles Area

This luxury self-catering apartment is situated in the stylish, and award winning, Maritime Quarter development and is located in the 'most choice' position overlooking the majestic sweep of Swansea Bay and over to Mumbles Head.

Within the Maritime Quarter itself is Swansea’s Marina which has been awarded the prestigious Blue Flag status for its high standards of cleanliness, safety and services. The bars and cafeterias on its perimeter offer a wonderful location for sitting and relaxing and for watching people, yachts, motor cruisers and fishing boats going by. The Maritime Quarter also contains the National Waterfront Museum where you can learn about Wales' maritime and industrial heritage; the Dylan Thomas Centre which celebrates the life and works of Swansea's famous poet; restaurants offering fine dining and relaxed family eating; cafeterias; shops and marine businesses including a sailing school. The newly re-furbished Leisure Centre at the Quarter’s perimeter provides everything the more active amongst us could want from adrenalin-fuelled surfing and water rides to a children’s lagoon and interactive play pool. At its core is a multi-purpose sports and exhibition hall; a four-storey interactive Playzone, and nine-metre climbing wall. It is also home to Wales' biggest fitness arena with a comprehensive range of cutting-edge equipment, two aerobics studios and a relaxing spa and treatments centre - all available to visitors as well as members.

The centre of the City of Swansea is only a short walk away from the Maritime Quarter and contains all the stores you would expect to see in a city of its size as well as a fine market, galleries, museums, parks, cinemas, theatres, casinos, and night clubs.

Swansea Bay's sandy beach sweeps from the marina entrance at the mouth of the River Tawe to Mumbles Head and is approximately 5 miles in length. A promenade runs along the edge of the bay and is enjoyed by cyclists, runners and walkers who appreciate its flatness as well as the dramatic views it offers. Midway between Swansea and Mumbles, is Blackpill Lido, which, with its caféteria and paddling pools, is ideally located for quenching the thirst and providing cooling relief on a hot summer's day. During the holiday season a land train is available to take passengers from here, along the seafront, to Verdi's ice cream parlour in the Mumbles. The bay is ideal for watersports of all kinds, with national sailing competitions held every year.

Mumbles is a delightful seaside village and often referred to as the 'Gateway to Gower'. It offers several outstanding restaurants, a couple of small art galleries, locally crafted products and exhibitions, some designer shops, a crazy golf course, a pier with an arcade and rides and an indoor skating rink. For those looking for more of an adrenalin rush there are boat trips available to view the outstanding beauty of the Gower peninsular from the sea. Both Catherine Zeta Jones with her husband Michael Douglas, and the singer - Bonnie Tyler - have chosen to have homes in this resort town.

The beautiful blue flag beaches of the Gower including Bracelet Bay, Caswell Bay, Langland Bay and Port Eynon are all easily accessible from here.
